This fixed-rate plan includes a 24-month contract, meaning your electricity rate won’t change for two years. If you don’t use much energy, this plan could be a good choice because it waives the usage charge when you consume less than 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of power per month.
The Live Brighter 1K + 24 is another fixed-rate, 24-month plan from Direct Energy. If you sign up for this higher-usage plan, the provider will waive the usage charge when you consume more than 1,000 kWh of electricity in a month.
Like the previous two Direct Energy plans, this plan has a fixed rate and a 24-month contract. It also includes Amazon Prime membership for two years or a $15 monthly Amazon gift card if you’re already an Amazon Prime member. Plus, the plan uses 100% renewable sources, like wind and solar energy.
If you choose this plan, you’ll get a fixed electricity rate for 12 months. You’ll also get free electricity from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. every night.
This Direct Energy plan has a fixed rate and 12-month contract. There are different rates for tiers of energy consumption (500 kWh, 1,000 kWh, and 2,000 kWh), with the lowest rates reserved for the highest usage.

If you cancel a fixed-rate energy plan before it expires, you might have to pay an early termination fee (ETF). This fee is $150 for 12-month plans or $295 for 24-month plans.
